Die Weihnachtsgurke

Von einigen Amerikanern habe ich nun schon von der "alten deutschen Tradition" der Weihnachtsgurke gehört. Aber kein Deutscher scheint je davon gehört zu haben. Ich dachte, daß ich ja vielleicht die Traditionen meiner Heimat nicht kenne und habe mal nachgeforscht. Und ich scheine nicht der einzige zu sein, der noch nie davon gehört hat:
